Frequently
Asked Questions
I can't seem to fill out the forms. MS Word will
open up and then the program will freeze. Why? |
You
need to be sure you have the right version of MS Word installed. Computerized
IEP currently only works with MS Word 2000 or higher. You can see
what version of MS Word you have by watching the startup screen when
you open MS Word. It will say MS Word 2000 or something similar. If
you have only MS Word 97, then you will need to upgrade. Contact your
principal to have him/her order you an upgrade. It's usually not very
much. |
What does the error "Can't communicate with ADO dataset."
(or similar message) mean?
|
This
message relates to the method of database access used by the Ward
Directory 1.0 program. The required database components should be
installed as part of any PC system that has Windows 98 Second Edition
or higher. That includes Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
If you are getting this message you will need to update the database
components by clicking
here. Once this program is downloaded, just install the components
and the program should work. |
How big (size of the .jpg file) can the pictures
be? |
The
picture resolution (this will be the quality setting of the camera)
and actual .jpg file size can be any size. The images are stored in
the database and there is no limitation to the size of image the Ward
Directory 1.0 database will accept. Once the directory is ready for
printing, it will be printed to a .PDF file (or directly to the printer)
and the actual size of the image will no longer be an issue. The final
.PDF file will be relatively small compared to the size of the Ward
Directory 1.0 database which contains the images. |
What if you haven't answered my questions and I can't
find an answer in the help file? |
If
you have not been able to find the answer to your question on this
page and you have thoroughly searched the help file that
came with Ward Directory 2.0, then you may contact me by visiting
the 'Contact Me' page. |
I want the program to do random sounds, not just
a sound every minute (or other interval)?
|
There
are two tabs up in the upper left corner. One is labeled 'Regular'
and the other one is labeled 'Irregular'. Please click on the 'Irregular'
tab and make your choices before clicking the 'Start' button. |
