Overview... Thursday, Aug 14, 2003

I started working as a Speech/Language Pathologist in the Cache County School District in 2000. Very quickly I found an application for my programming skills because I got VERY tired of constantly entering the same information on forms for the same child. If you're unfamiliar with Special Education systems, they are fraught with paperwork and much of it is redundant. I would enter the child's name at least 3-4 times, their birthdate at least twice, and then the IEP date at least 3 times. What a waste of time! I put together a program that worked completely within MS Word. The next year I made a standalone program that just fills in blank MS Word documents. It works wonderfully well and makes preparation of the paperwork a breeze.
